Collectionneur et mécène, Antoine de Galbert a créé et présidé pendant quatorze ans La Maison rouge, fondation d’art contemporain à Paris, qui a dorénavant réorienté ses actions de mécénat. Parallèlement, il collectionne depuis une trentaine d’année l’art contemporain, brut, primitif, populaire, et religieux. Il propose ici une sélection d’oeuvres traitant de la condition animale, dans un esprit de cabinet de curiosités contemporaines, une nouvelle arche de Noé : lapins pantoufles de Wim Delvoye, serpent à pattes de Joan Fontcuberta, poulpe dégoulinant de Thomas Feuerstein.

A collector and patron, Antoine de Galbert set up and presided over, for fourteen years, La Maison rouge, a contemporary arts foundation in Paris, and today has reshaped his patronage for the arts. Parallel to that, he has been collecting for thirty years contemporary, brut, primitive, popular and religious art. He offers here a selection of works dealing with the animal condition, in the spirit of the contemporary cabinet of curiosities, a new Noah’s Ark: Will Delvoye’s rabbit slippers, Joan Fontcuberta’s snake with twelve feet, Thomas Feuerstein’s dripping octopus.
